My new Vrs Diesel

Featured Replies

Hi all i've just got my first Skoda, an Octavia Vrs diesel. After 3 years of a Vectra Sri i must say WHAT A CAR :D

Quite nippy and resonably economical as well, i've just spent all day cleaning but forgot to take any pictures so pre-clean will have to do for now :giggle:

Any advice on which model stereo/sat nav this is and what is maxidot? Sorry for the newbie questions but can't seem to find the explanation in the searches i've done

Oh and does the stereo surround just pull/lever off as i've seen in a fabia write up.

Thanks in advance for any help

That looks like the MFD2 to me, and you have Maxidot, it's the trip computer on the dash between the two main clocks. You can change some settings on there as well as flick between the various figures in the trip computer.

Edit: Welcome to Skoda ownership too emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Nice care btw,

You have maxidot on your car. It is the screen that is between the speedo and the rev counter.

Not ure of the model stereo but it is not the standard stream headunit so I suspect it is the sat nav (sure another member will give you a model number).

Excellent, thanks for the reply's/info guy's

So if i change the head unit can this affect the maxidot? It has a tele button (in between the CD and AUX button) on the HU as well but i can't see anyway of connecting my phone through bluetooth, is this an ad on part?

Thanks again

The box for the bluetooth is an additional module and it lives under the drivers seat if you've got a VAG one. You can pick these up of eBay if required (look for the GSM II module). You can also get a Fiscon unit fitted if you need handsfree instead of the VAG unit.
