03 PD130 oil and oil fllter

Featured Replies

Can anyone point me in the direction of a cheap decent oil filter (or part number if all else fails) for the 03 plate PD130 TDI engine, and a supplier of suitable oil at a reasonable price? I know all about the 506/507 etc types and would prefer to save a bit of money on Halfrauds full price for these oils.

Thanks!

Ric

I'm not sure how soon you'd want them but have you tried the Euro Car Parts website? Other than that, I wouldn't know as I'd probably use OEM parts / oil

Try ASDA, they had Mobil ESP 1 5/30 vw 507.00 spec for £32.00, you will be lucky to get it cheaper, As for the oil filter go to your local factors and pick up a european made filter such as FRAM or MANN for about £5 or £6 quid. Make sure the filter has the 2 rubber "O" rings in the box, Last time i went snooping around Halfrauds, They were charging almost a tenner.

Myself, I wouldn't think of "cheap" and oil filter in the same sentence but it's your car. For 507 oil I found a Skoda dealer on EBay selling the Quantum 507 full synthetic for £25 a 5 litre pack, delivered. Actually, to be fair, it was 4 x 5 litre for £100 but there you go. I'll soon use that as I have two motors that use it.

The last OE oil filter i bought from Skoda was only £4.80 (+VAT), IMO at that price it really is not worth putting anything else in.

As previously said the VW507.00 Mobil 1 oil from ASDA is a very good price, it is also for a 5 ltr bottle, whereas most others are just 4 ltrs.
