Newbie after advice re VRS

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I'm new on here so please go easy.

I recently bought a 2006 Fabia VRS for the other half. Anyway I was driving it the other night and noticed that it pulled to the left when accelerating fairly quickly (Had one hand on the wheel at the time). I hadn't noticed it before but I was aware that the tracking was out as the wheel was off centre and the car would drift left on the motorway etc. So I took it to be done the next morning.

She was all tracked up and the steering wheel is nice and true. The only thing is that it still pulls to the left if i accelerate hard. Now I know all about torque steer etc but i don't think it's that. the front tyre pressure's are equal and the camber looks fine. I had a mechanic mate put it up on a 4 poster to have a look and all looked fine. although the rear wishbone bushes look like a fairly poor design, and introducing a screwdriver to them did show some movement. But they looked ok other than that.

So, has anyone else suffered the same thing and is there an uprated bush for that wishbone?

Oh, enjoying the car and have used every excuse under the sun to steal it from the other half instead of using my daily hack when not playing with my toy.

Cheers

yes this issue has come up many times on the forum and it usually is the cause

uprated bush is from an audi a3/Ibiza Cupra Console Bushes - 6LL 407 183. About £8 each i think

There is a new design of Skoda console bush which is seems a bit more sturdier but i'd still opt for the uprated one.

+1 Cupra bushes will make all the difference

one more thing, after the consoles are fitted you should get the wheel alignment checked also.

Thanks fella's, that gives me some piece of mind. I'll get some Cupra one's ASAP.

Torque steer is also possible, one hand on the wheel and accelerate hard it'll pull left.
