I've been using my 10 year old Felicia for a while without 5th gear( it doesn't like to stay in 5th),

I've looked around for info on fitting alternative boxes but not found much to help.

question is, I have a friend who has a spare box from a 99 Golf GTi (1.8)

would this fit easily?

any help would be appreciated,

no the golf box will cause you no end of balls-ache...

is this not the infamous 5th gear nut working loose?? fairly easy fix

?

I haven't heard or read of the problem you've mentioned, couldn't find any info when searching
