found some tt comps with toyo tyres 205/40/17 as the rims are 7.5j rather than standard 6.5j on the vrs are they going to be poking out illegally or has the tyre width cancelled this out?

Yes, they'll be fine. They sit very nicely in the arches being slightly wider and a lower offset. But if you've not at least fitter lowering springs, please do that first

I've been looking for a set of these aswell. But my budget a bit low.

205's look much better than the 215's and the 215's on the rear rub on the arches if you got coilovers with passengers in the back

Mine on comps and lowered 35mm (now on coilovers). A little bored of them now though so i'm on the lookout for something to replace them with.

I sold a set to Leon-y-k last year. He had them refurbed and now they sit nicely on his fabia.

I love TT comps, size and offset is fine for a fabia. I'd go for 205 tyres too.
