boyced - The W8 light is around

not checked wiring yet (will this weekend) but on the golf you just use an adaptor loom and take an extra feed for the illumination from the headlight switch. Spraying won't be so straight forward due to the and illumination but can be done.

Would consider it myself if it were possible to convert the illumination for the switches to green to match everything else in the vRS.

I fitted it on Sunday, wiring is exactly the same as the Golf and fitment was slightly easier as there isn't any polystyrene sound insulation behind the light unit like on the Golf which had to be cut away. It took under 30mins to complete and I'm glad to have the ambient lighting back, looks really good at night and is genuinely useful.

think i may have found the culprit with my internal light, the drivers door catch

noticed that the door light didn't work either, asked at dealer and nearly 80 nicker to just buy the catch :eek:

was told by the dealer that it is just the catch, they have micro switches in them for the lights and they fail
