how to remove centre vents.

Featured Replies

One of the slats on the centre vents was broken by a cheap phone holder. I want to mend it but how do I remove the centre vent unit. The manual says use "disassembly wedge 3409" . Is there something magical about this tool or will any plastic wedge device as used on door panels etc be OK.

The centre vents are in the centre top box integrated. You can easily remove the whole by levering it up with a plastic wedge (or if strong enough, with your fingers)

It is clipped left and right below the left-right regulators for the vents. Just try to move the box up on the edges will make it come out of the dash.

Beware of the cable that is attached to the emergency flasher switch.

Heres a pic of when I had mine out to put the gps in. As above you can see the three clips on the bottom front of the vent unit.

A plastic wedge usually works wonders there....had mine out as well when connecting the IPhone-adapter to the Stream's Aux In.....
