Its Arrived!

Featured Replies

Got a call from the garage this morning, that `Bruno` the Fabia had finally arrived....things seem a bit chaotic at Skoda at Mo as the car arrived on a transporter they werent expecting followed 2 hours later by the e mail to say It was going to arrive later :S Been down to have a lookie and a sit in it and it does look good......very elegant in Brunello Rosso Red with the comet alloys  and the really good news is thanks to a great effort at DM Keith in Leeds I get it on Weds afternoon :DB)

Its a 1.2 105bhp Elegance Estate so I`ll post the `test drive` details later.......if I can be prised out of it that is..

Great news ! I get mine tommorrow :D

Get some pics up! We have to wait until September for our 1.2TSi DSG Elegance.

Hope you enjoy!

Happy day has arrived and we`ve taken delivery of it :D Really does look gorgeous in the Brunello maroon with the Comet alloys.....only problem being round here its absolutely pi$$ing down like its never going to stop so came back up the motorway at 50mph, as on days like this it seems to bring out every butthead onto the road, usually in someone elses beaten up van, who couldnt give a monkeys so decided to give `em a wide berth.. :moon:

Thought id call and put some Shell V Power in it, start off proper like, only the bladdy pump wasnt working and the only helpful comment from the staff was to cross the forecourt at the same time as Wakefields taxi fleet turned up  so that little plan had to be abandoned...

So I`ve probably had a shorter test drive than the dealer would have given me but such is life eh...First thoughts are very positive, its quiet (very) , its comfortable (very), the driving position is well to my liking and although the Elegance, you dont get audio controls on the steering wheel, which is a bit cheapskate tbh....that said the radio controls are now easily to hand with 6 preset stations `pushable` so the whole thing is no distraction, but to have it as a couple of hundred squid extra is a bit much IMHO...What I do like is the climate control, which is very effective and easy to operate, especially on a day like today when HEAT was required, it did the business almost instantly

Still getting used to the maxidot computer, going home on the M1 at one point it was giving 200MPG then straight down to 50 so need to read the handbook on that one. There is a thread running on the Yeti forum re the 1.2 105bhp concerning turbo lag and I would agree with this. Its slow from a standing start up to 2000rpm, which to be fair , if your in stop/start traffic , you want economy not the turbo going berswick , but once you get it beyond this point it does mighty start to please. Obviously mine has just 22 miles on the clock so will take some time to sus out performance, roadholding etc but I`d be suprised if there were any major disappointments in store..

Anyway time to get Mrs P outside to give Bruno a rub down before I park it in the garage  .......then I woke up I know..

Sounds a lovely estate, I love that deep maroon colour. Look forward to the pics.

Sounds like you had the computer on instant economy mode. I never bother using that one as it never stays still. I tend to leave mine on the average econ (1) setting.

I've done a proper commute today, which is about 6 miles with a motorway section, and it averaged out at 42mpg. Very happy.
