Replacing speakers

Featured Replies

With the mark II Octavira vRS, has anyone managed to replacing the standard (non premium) car speakers? Mine don't sound that great, even after fiddling, (one failing of the car) and I would like to replace them with something a bit more powerful.

Thanks guys :)

I wouldn't replace the mid / base drivers. I think the bass they give, driven from a Columbus is exceptionally good. Don't really need a sub, in fact sometimes it sounds like you've got one - crank up a bit of TC – Where's My Money (Caspa Remix) and check the vibrations in your rear view mirror. B) A bit of dynamat wouldn't go a miss though and you could improve on the tweeters and cross overs. If you've got a Stream headunit, I assure you that is a far, far greater limiting factor on the sound quality than the speakers - swapping for a Columbus makes a massive difference.

Thanks for the reply. I have no idea what headunit it is in there, just the standard one. Is there way to check? Where can i find more information about the Columbus? cheers

Sounds like you've got a Stream / Stream MP3. Plain looking with a monochrome display right? Columbus is the more recent version of the sat nav headunit. It's a belting bit of a kit, but they're expensive unless you buy from ebay. Trouble is, most of the ones on ebay are stolen.
