I don't know exactly how speed camera's work but I'm sure they are set to go off a couple of mph over the limit, otherwise if every one is doing, say 40mph according to their speedo's, but in real speed its say 38mph for example, and the camera is set to go off at anything over 38mph (because this should be 40mph on the speedo), everyone would be setting the camera off. Wouldn't it be a little suspicious with all the complaints coming in?

Generally speed cameras are set at 10% of the speed limit +2mph. Ive triggered a lot of speed cameras in my job and never got any points

They decided to not renew and will have had reminders months before expiry. Their own fault.
