My Fabia will start ok but not rev - its like there is no link between the accerator and engine. Best advice I have had from two local garages is "beats me" Any ideas on what to do would be most welcome.

Step for a hint - which engine? And knowing whereabouts in the nation you are would help too, cos it may be a VCDS job.

if its a vrs sounds like coud be the throttle control module..

Hello JAMIE2

As 'warwick hunt' member has said could be control module.

Mine went wrong whilst car still under warranty, so limped back to Skoda dealer.

10 minutes later car was ready and has never happened since (touch wood).

If something is detected within engine management ie turbo fault, then control module/ management puts car into limp-home mode.

Suggest get in touch with Skoda for fault analysis.

Its a 16V 1390cc and I am located in SE Essex.

We had one last week, just after we serviced it. It showed up pressure sensor faults and that it had an air leak. We went through it, cleaning the throttle body, erasing learned values, adapting the throttle body etc. The fault appeared to be a stuck EGR valve, gently tapping it must have re-seated it as the car ran fine and responded to the throttle. The EGR valve is the cylinder on the front left of the cylinder head (as you look at the engine).
