Burning clutch smell

Featured Replies

Just come back from work (missis was driving ) and we were stuck in the IOW Festival traffic for some time. After about 10 mins of crawling through traffic we got a really bad burning smell from the clutch. No judder, or slip just burning. Is the clutch likely to fail soon or did it just overheat as it were?

If the misses had been slipping the clutch in the slow moving traffic that might account for it.....

Took the plunge and ordered a Sachs VR6 clutch and G60 flywheel and bolts. Should improve the feel compared with the disgusting DMF setup.
