Wanna order Furby vrs in next few days but unsure RE extras

Featured Replies

Gonna buy me a vrs :) from drivethedeal, but unsure RE extras. Was gonna go:

cruise, side airbags, esp, black paint

but told I'd have to wait til mid Feb. Could wait for 05 plates of course, so that's an option. But can I wait that long?!

what do people reckon RE the ESP?

ESP - A/S/R works just fine. Personally i'd rather not have the extra sensors etc to go wrong after warranty time..lol.

Cruise - Excellent options but can be fitted afterwards if you know the right people.

Side air bags - Good selling point for when you come to trade in/move on. Only prove thier worth in an accident.

Black paint - Pain to keep clean but when it is its the best Fabia colour (and the most common)

Gleaming....

I've just ordered mine clicky

I did consider doing without the cd changer and buying a decent MP3 head unit in its place.... or just making do with the standard single cd head unit. Xenons are nice to have, however the standard headlights are most likely more than adequate?

I think that side airbags/esp will be standard on all cars in 3 - 4 years time along with external airbags for pedestrians (should they need them).... a bit like ABS is now a legal requirement on all new cars sold in the EU (as of last July I believe)

I hope to keep the car for 3+ years to get some value from the extra's .. I expect the extra's won't add to the second-hand value by much, if any. Although I have heard that you recoup the cost of metallic paint at resale?

The ASR (Traction control) comes as standard and works okay for preventing wheelspinning and reduces oversteer on slippy bends. Unless you have a habit of driving into bends too fast then hitting the brake mid-point - I dont really see the use of ESP. I'm sure it could come in useful one day, but theres something very artificial about it that I dont like.

The options I went for were Black metallic paint, sunroof, heated seats and cruise control.

The cruise control and heated seats are my favourate two extras, well worth the extra

Things like a sunroof or Xenon lights are things you should really get done now, as its a pain to put them in later. Thats why I went with sunroof. Wish i had got the Xenons too :-)

I can recommend the Xenons - I've got them in my Octy and they're awesome - particularly on twisty country roads :D:D:D

Cruise - I got it cause we have to visit the outlaws  who are 150 miles away in Inverness. And most of the A9 between Perth and Inverness is mind-numbingly boring after the first half-dozen trips :sleep::sleep:

Black Magic - as everyone else says looks lovely but a pain to keep clean

ESP - haven't tried it out yet in anger :mischief: Still running it in then :revs:

Welcome,

Heated seats - option for wimps - best value I reckon. :D

Used all the time during winter months. brrr.
