what doe they check especialy exhaust wise is it just emisions or noise aswell? :wonder:

Incomplete/ insecure/ leaking exhaust system

Exhaust silencer holed, missing or modified (Does not reduce the noise emitted to a reasonable level)

Exhaust emitting excessive smoke

Exhaust emitting excessive levels of pollutants

i mearly ask because ive just had a stainless exhaust system fitted and its obv louder

I don't know if it's an absolute limit (i.e. x decibel), or if it's a subjective one (i.e. "crikey that's loud!") ... sorry, can't be any more help, other than it's a potential defect, so probably might be looked at ...

no emissions just smoke test..

wont have any probs with stainless system fitted.

That's for a derv only, his is petrol, so will be emissions tested (as well/instead??).

There is no equipment available to the tester to measure noise levels, so anything mentioned about the noise will be subjective.

that ok then ill get the egr fixed and im sure it will pass with flying colours now
