in the search for 312's..

Featured Replies

hello,

Currently I found that Mk4 golfs and Mk1 octy's have 312mm brakes which will fit the Fabia.. is there any others I can look for? Leon? A3?

What price should I be expecting? Around £100-150 for both calipers & carriers? What SHOULDN'T I be getting?

Have a little more time now so shall start a hunt on ebay and breakers.

I had a search but there seems to be no luck.. Is there a database for all these type of thing somewhere? i.e. electric windows also same as octy ones etc etc...

Thanks!

thanks, yeah im looking for budget around £200-230.. with new pads/disc and used carriers & calipers..

It would be a bit of a mission getting them separately though.. loads on ebay sell either calipers or carriers.. either left or right.. never a whole set..! :dull:

i know i looked at ebay for a while and cudnt find any so asked on here and got some straight away, they make car 100% better aswell, i just done MOT on mine and front brake readings were amamzing lol.

i paided £100 for my pads and discs from euro car parts, but they got offer on them now and its like 50quid for pads and discs

Audi TT and Audi S3 (pre 2006 only I think though) as well

Umm cant find that offer.. but would be good, alternative was simply that mintex set on ebay £80?, popped up a few times when I was searching for some answers.

Haha, cheers :)

Yeah I plan to do it myself with some help of a friend (mech eng). Never done it before but doesn't look too bad..

Just in case anyone is wondering about the discs calipers etc in that upgrade link....

I asked the seller if they were 312mm discs, this is what i got back..

Thanks for your interest - they are my sons, so I'll check his response tonight, meanwhile I've just measured the actual discs, 291mm, if that's any help?

So i presume they must be 288mm calipers and discs?

Edited by Static

Just got my discs and pads today. The discs are mahoooosive!

Another response from the ebay seller...

All we know is that these came off my sons 130 BHP Bora SE - hope this is helpfull

So does anyone know if these are 312mm or 288mm ?

not 100% but if its from a 130 bora i wud say they not the 312mm, there is a list sumwhere on this forum showin wot cars they come off, hope sum1 can help abit better for u

These brakes on eBay seem to be very popular.

With the 312mm kit is it simply a case of one set off and bolt these back on?

pretty much, but needs to be the right ones from the right car.. Which is why imo it should be a sticky about it  some say on here its not ness. unless you go on track, but personally I'd rather pay that extra bit just to decrease that sponge effect (and for the looks, and stopping power). :D

I agree.

I want them on my car because im not going down the remap route until i have better stopping power...
