Tdi 90 REMAP anyone had it done?

Featured Replies

hey guys

anyone had their octy 1.9Tdi 90bhp remapped?

If you have...

  1. Was it a good improvement in power & torque?
  2. Did the fuel economy change much? better/worse?
  3. Where did you have it done & how much?

There's a garage around here that does REVO remaps, thought I might give it a try :)

Also been looking at;

not sure as this is the 100bhp.

You could just drop T4 151bhp injectors in it, should be getting about 120bhp without a remap emoticon-0100-smile.gif

Well thats what im aiming for 120bhp

aparantly they can acheive that from a remap, and no need for larger injectors, and the different turbo off the 110 model which I have planned.

Yeah that Shark maps no good for you, as it's for the 100bhp TDi PD engine that's being put in new Mk1 Octavias all over Europe.

Might be worth posting the question in the Shark Performance area though. I'm sure Ben will fill you in on the options.

If you get the 110 turbo plus 110 injectors you will be looking at 130/140 bhp. T4 Injectors 140 - 150bhp.

I have some bigger nozzles for sale - they are r520 nozzles which can fuel 200+ bhp, plus a PD150 turbo, you will see 180 bhp plus with this setup with breathing mods. PM me if you are interested :)

Hi, I ve installed the PP764 injector nozzles along with a VNT-17/22 hybrid turbo and a RocketChip remapp. The remap involves sending the ECU to Jeff in Red Lion PA,USA. If you can do with your car being out of service for a few days I highly recommend Jeff. Check out his testimonials and you will be convinced. Depending on how far you d like to go you can start with PP520s also with a RC2+. Anyfurther and you will need a uprated clutch [southBend], 150 TIP, Exhaust upgrade,3 "Downpipe,Upgraded SMIC or even better a FMIC, EGR delete, larger turbo,a boost and EGT gauge, fuel cooler, larger oil cooler, 288 or 312 front discs and 256 rears,In-tank PD lift pump, 11mm or 12mm injection pump etc. Then you r looking at around 200bhp with massive usable torque.

Hi,

I've been thinking about this too...

I'm from Belgium and we've got some reliable company's... one of them told me a remap (400€) would bring me to 125 a 130bhp (I have an ALH engine), theoretically could go much more but not possible due to injectors bottleneck. Changing the injectors would bring me around 155bhp and they charge about 500€ for this

My questions:

- will changing the injectors improve torque as well?

- will this increase fuel consumption?

- what injectors can be used and what's the price?

- can I do this myself?

thx!

B

Not sure you can get away with even a standard remap without changing the clutch.

Some people have them last fine but others go very quickly.

Personally I would budget for it and run it until it goes.

Would you need an

uprated clutch?

or a new standard 90bhp one?

or a 110 model clutch?

I'd go for an uprated one, have a look and see what sort of torque figures a remap will get you, I bet it's quite a bit more than what the standard 90 or 110 clutches are meant for. The turbodiesels are torquey enough as it is but remapped the torque is immense.

Have a look in the Fabia forum and see what clutches they are running on their remapped Fabia VRS's, they should be fine for your Octy.

Uprated. do it once and do it well !

Totally agree with Cawmere, as I went thru the VR6/G60 combo before going to the South Bend Clutch stage 2 and now stage 4[ all single mass flywheels from the Duals]. Regards the quiery on torque increases there is a definite noticable corresponding BHP and TQ increase with Injectors alone ++. [ You only need to change the nozzles as the whole injector might turn out to be pretty expensive. Budget in a VAG-COM cable at some point as its a fab DIY tuning tool along with its ROSS-TECH software.

Some are EDC15 and can be reflashed
