Genuine exhaust trim - 1.4mpi - fit without lower spoiler?

I picked up a genuine Skoda exhaust trim off ebay, pn FDC 410 011. It looks great. However, I have since determined it is meant to be used with the bodykit. It looks like if I fit it as it is there will be no clearance from the rear bumper. I am guessing fitting the rear bumper spoiler involves cutting the existing bumper in order to give the clearance for the exhaust trim?
