Hi Willword

Yes, use the cheap basic car protector plastic 'thingys' and soak them in hottish water for about 10 mins prior to applying them to your SM.

That way they will be nice and 'supple' and as they cool down will mould to the door shape.

Hope this helps

I got a couple of Crawford door protectors from Home and Bargain dead cheap. Long foamy things that stick on the wall. Cant remember the exact price but probably only 2 or 3 quid. if you google them they are on ebay as well

I have looked at car protector plastic "thingys" but you spend £18K plus for the car just don't want it to look naff, are there better alternatives out there?

I have goggled etc but everything is £2/£5 cheap and tacky (In my opinion)

Also has anyone got the code for skoda touch up pen "Muscovada"

It will be worth the wait, hang in there.

so im told....its just i aint good at waiting :giggle:

Hi All,

What ever you do, do not use plastic edge protectors. I have a very tight garage so had the same problem and fitted plastic door protectors. I left the car parked for a day at Harrogate showground, sandy surface and high winds. When I got back to Oxfordshire I noticed a line of bad scratches on the door. I have just payed around £100.00 to have them polished out. Never again. I just lined the garage with carpet.

So far so good. Halfords touch up kit seems good for my Octy and as my SM is the same colour, Black Magic I kept it.

Chris.

That's pretty cool - a waiting list for the touch up paint

Does that mean the pen arrives before or after the car

This is probably hard to believe but for small touch ups (and I mean small), I've found that the United Grey for my Passat is as near as I can tell the same as my Steel Grey Yeti.
