Bong bong bong.....

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have a 2000 Octavia, which bongs three times when the key is turned to the final posittion (the one before engine start), is this just a seat belt reminder?

There are no warning lights on the dash.

If it is just a seat belt reminder, can it be disabled?

James.

Yes, seat belt reminder but mine's got a warning light on the dash and yes I believe it can be disabled with VAG COM, plenty of members on here that should be able to help

The 3 bongs just means that the ejector seat has primed. 4 bongs means an enemy aircraft has missile lock on your car. 5 bongs means you are too stoned to drive, and you should probably go sleep it off.

You could have just tried turning the car on with your seatbelt on, and saved yourself asking this question! Or RTFM!

The simple fix is to put your seatbelt on when you get in the car. If you're not into that habbit, then you'll soon get used to the bongs and won't notice them.

You might have an electrical problem if it does this.

Mine does more than three if my seatbelt's not clipped in, otherwise i get none.

Thanks chaps, clipping it in does shut it up!

Shame it's not really an ejector seat.....

I need to replace my passenger one as it doesn't always clip in first time, and sometimes pops out whilst driving, which is worrying.

Do I have to buy one with electronic bits or can I install a standard one and short some wires to stop the bonging?
