Shark Remap

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Made the 150 mile trip down to Shark yesterday to get my car remapped and the difference is truely awesome! Ben quickly identified that my car didn't have tuning protection as when I went for a greasy sarnie I came back and he'd done it :giggle:

AND to top it all off I got a free inflatable shark as a souvenir

Anyone considering a remap for their Octavia I could not recommend Shark Performance more, I was filled with a lot of cr*p from other tuners and one of which told me that the car actually had tuning protection and would have to charge me £600 to do the job! Ben was informative, helpful and straight to the point!

Many thanks Ben, great to meet you! Let me know when you get some more STS units in :D

What was the drive home like?!

Very careful actually lol, far too much traffic on the M1 :( but needless to say I opened it up when I got back to familiar roads :giggle: The difference is amazing, i smile like a big kid whenever i put my foot down now!

id b interested to see what these TSI's make on accurate Rolling roads. Do you have any dyno dynamics rolling roads near you??

Yeah mate PD tuning have one, but since they were the onee trying to fill me full of **** i'll not be taking it there  Whenever i wanted dyno runs done iv always used Motoscope at Northallerton, only an hour from me - they used a Dastek 4 wheel dyno, seems very accurate from past use

Think it might be an idea to take it down this weekend actually!

dyno dynamics are where its at, if you make good figures on them, you know your car is running well. i always try to use DD rollers for that reason,

although if you use the same type of rollers consistently that will be just as good. Did you get the STS handset. a before and after RR run would undoubtably be the best method of comparing the std map and perfomance map. then you can compare on graph there differences in the area under the curves etc.

id expect you should be making better results than the TFSI as the TSI gets a better HPFP, so your torque should be better.

Ben was fresh out of them unfortunately :( As soon as he gets some more in I will definately be investing in one

I used those rollers for both my 530d and my s2000, never did a before run with the beemer but that ran 252 bhp and 441 lbs/ft (if my memory serves me right lol) with bluefin remap.

The s2000 I had 3 runs:

Run 1 - stock) 239 bhp with 154 lbs/ft which is pretty much bang on what it should be

Run 2 - K&N FIPK induction kit with cat back eaxhaust) 255.8 bhp and 165.2 lbs/ft

Run 3 - Above mods + decat pipe) 260 bhp on the dot and 164.4 lbs/ft - strangely seemed to lose a bit of torque with the decat.

On the same day my mate ran his totall stock 330ci clubsport and that ran 228 bhp so the dyno seems very accurate in terms of figures IMO

Hey mate, might I have passed you on Norham road one day last week? There aren't too many other white vRS's about round here! I know of one other and that's Justin's from Silbury.

have you done it yet then :giggle: less typing more rolling road action
