headlights

Will headlights from either an Audi A4 or Golf mk4 fit a 2002 Octavia?

I'd like to fit either of these if they can be made to fit EASILY, or will fit straight in

wiring changes dont worry me, but bodywork changes do

If they will fit straing into where the existing lights are it would be brilliant, like I said if they need the wiring changed thats not a problem.

At the moment, I've got the H4 headlight with fog (which I originally thought was a projector headlight, dissapointed when I found out it wasnt)

Alternatively, is it possible to change the fog light part of the headlamp for a projector one?

if so any clues where to find one suitable and how it might fit?

Why do you not just put a conversion kit on ?

Much cheaper and better light output

Because its becoming increasingly more common for cops to stop people with conversions in normal headlights

they dont show the right beam pattern and can - not always but usually - end up blinding others and when that happens to be a cop its just asking for trouble

although there are no laws as such being broken in relation to using conversions with normal lights, they do break the vehicle construction and use regulations and could lead to trouble.

Mush simpler if I can find a projector headlamp that will fit straight on

I know was at least one model of Octavia 1 with HID lights fitted its finding one in a scrapyard where it can be bought for a decent price thats the problem, much simpler if a light off another car will fit straight on

This is a common argument over quite a few forums at the moment about the legality of a HID conversion.

I've been looking at doing this for over 18 months and I think I will do it before the winter comes.

I am sick of the really poor light output.

I would much prefer a set of factory xenons but the cost is way too prohibitive.
