Featured Replies

can you buy the front wishbones with powerflex bushes already in them on second set already lol :giggle:

Are you saying that the powerflex bushes on your wishbones are knacked?

If so just get a refund and go for the Superpro ones.

I had problems with the powerflex ones and changed them for Superpro ones.

ive seen someone else with the tt wishbones on are they alot better than the vrs ones then stiffer bushes ???????????????

Much better than standard VRS bushes, especially if you are upgrading ARB bushes and suspension as the standard VRS bushes takes even more punishment.

I have the TT bushes in my motor, after powerflex ones lasted 4 months. If you have the older version powerflex bushes they are crap and they pull out of the wishbone because they don't have sufficent overlap on the wishbone lip to stay in place.

The TT bushes look the same as the VRS bushes from the outside and how it fits to the wishbone, but the TT inner rubber fills the whole casing, as apposed to the VRS bush having 2 points of contact and thus can move about a lot and eventually tear away from the casing. the TT bushes are cheap compared to the powerflex bushes also.

I can dig out some pics and a install guide if needed.

I don't think the TT cast wishbones are a straight swap on the A4 platform.

The two subframe mounting points are in the right place (hence the bushings fitting the Octy wishbones), but the ball joint mount is different, as the TT uses a different ball joint. You may think that you could just use the TT ball joint then, but they have a different taper where they attach to the hub carrier. So if you want to use TT wishbones, you have to use TT ball joints and hub carriers too, and maybe TT track rods.

I'll be using TT rear bushes in my spare set of wishbones.

Spot on Bodge, they are not a direct replacement and will involve the work you mentioned.

Although when time and funds allow i will be going that route as fitting TT wishbones is less stressful on a lowered car like mine, where the VRS wishbones are sitting negative level.

TT hub carriers are quite different to "normal" A4 platform - TT wheelbase is significantly shorter than the standard platform and hence the steering arms and overall steering geometry will change. It may or may not have significant effect in practice, but bear it in mind and investigate before rushing off to change everything.

Some Leon Cupra also use the cast arms, so maybe their hub carriers may be more compatible?
