MY11 VRS DSG spec

Featured Replies

I am awaiting my new VRS DSG and have spec'ed Bluetooth with multi function steering wheel. Its a lease car therefore I have no direct contact with the dealer, although I am told via our fleet manager that it leaves the factory on 24 June. My question is am I going to get GSM 2 or GSM 3?

I have also ordered tunnel lights, does that give the lights under the door mirrors etc.

New to all this Skoda stuff, just coming out of am 07 Honda CRV, lovely car and will take some beating I hope the VRS lives up to its press in this forum.

You'll get GSM III, hopefully the new improved version though that can work wither as rSAP or handsfree profiles

Don't think the vRS gets puddle lights in the mirrors though even with the tunnel lights

Tunnel lights are the auto-headlights, vRS doesn't get puddle lights.

I just picked up my VRS last weekend which is a MY11 spec. It has GSM III which does not work with standard bluetooth and is rSAP Secific. Checked with Skoda UK who say there is no intention to upgrade software or anything to make it both compatible with bluetooth and rSAP. They also contradict some of the threads on this site which say that you can swap the bluetooth unit out from under the driver seat and replace with a GSM II unit as they say the wiring and software are incompatible.

Does anyone know if this new improved version that works with rSAP or handsfree actually exists. I cannot find any reference to it and any sources at VAG seem to deny any knowlege of this whatsover. Not sue if its just rumours!!

If it exists it will solve my problem with incompatibility with my Iphone!!

The handbook (online) says you can connect a Bluetooth music device to a GSM III. Is that the case or is that piece of information questionable as well? It goes on to say you can also connect to the internet......

I've just posted a new thread covering this.

It seems it does - it's in testing, has kept slipping and slipping and there is no current date for availability.

I got this info from skoda customer services who have been deciding whether to give me a full refund or explore the option of the GSMIII+

They haven't denied the existence -but clearly info is scant and no-one is committing to anything.

This will probably confuse as much as help - it certainly confused me.

My car a 2011MY Elegance. I ordered the optional Light Assist. The car came with the light assist and the boarding spots. I wasn't expecting the boarding spots at all as none of the brochures say that they come with either the Light Assist or the Elegance trim. Needless to say I'm pleased, they are a nice touch.

The car also came with a boot net, again nowhere in the sales blurb would you expect to get a boot net with an Elegance. It was even factory fit as it is in the option codes.

In my view the finer aspects of the specs is a bit of pot luck and Skoda UK don't really have a clue or even attempt to market the specs with much accuracy.
