Yeti attacked

Featured Replies

Went to local Halfords on Saturday afternoon to get some supplies -buckets, sponges shampoo, wax, rain x etc.

We were probably only in the store for 10 minutes.

When we returned to car and went to open boot to put the purchases away I noticed someone had made contact with the rear bumper and drove off.

There is a crease in the centre and the painted portion at the bottom has a crease and paint chips.

Fact of life there are some utter pig ignorant drivers who slam doors into your car and think nothing of apologising, and who do damage like this and just shrug it off and run away like the snivelling cockroaches they are. Usually they are driving some ****heap on wheels and cant respect other peoples property.

Makes my blood boil can you tell lol

Grrrrrrrr

It hurts me when I see, ******* ***** this had it done not so long ago, and last week some drunk walking past my car decided to push his mate on top of it and in anger he punched the bonnet and dinted it ! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Sorry to see your dent :-( makes me mad that people just dont care about banging into other peoples cars anymore - looks like a tow bars been reveresed into your monster :'( .

I don't think it was a tow bar, the damage is too angular and long, perhaps a door or a shopping trolley was the culprit.

Regardless It'll hurt me in the pocket.

Other than that, I love my Monster and after 1500km the issue with the tyres (Dunlop SP01) seems to have resolved itself.

Is there Surveillance camera evidence available, gutted for you mate I try to park where there plenty of space on retail parks.

Try to do the same but for some bizarre reason someone always parks next to you even though there's dozens of other empty spaces :wonder:

emoticon-0106-crying.gif to see a monster in the wars; no matter how hard you try and look after your own things there's always somebody wanting to spoil it :(

If it wasn't for the PC brigade we could reintroduce the stocks and hard labour

You have met my sister then, she once drove into a 600 space car park with only one car parked in it.............................. and managed to hit it!!!!:o

This is certainly worth a try.

Last weekend as we went onto our local Tesco car park, a girl in a Peugeot 205 had caught a rear bumber. She stayed at the scene waiting for the other driver and was still there an hour later when we came out.

She won't be readiong this but well done to people who still have the decency to own up when they've done something like this.

This kind of thing makes my blood boil too. emoticon-0121-angry.gif I hate parking in supermarket car parks, the number of utterly ignorant and mindless drivers you come across is a nightmare for anyone who takes pride in their car. Having said that, I have not been the recipient of any damage to this extent but one of the best I come across are idiots who park so close next to you, they must have serious difficulty in actually getting out of the car but there are loads of free spaces around them - the mind boggles.

Definitely worth investigating the possibility of obtaining CCTV footage.

Not that it's much consolation but, it could have been worse - a now quite famous video of one of the worst offences committed in a car park.

Oh, and by the way. The driver of the BMW X5 was a 62 year old Canadian woman apparently who got a $500 fine and had to pay for the damage to the two cars.

That is such a shame soccerc

Hope you get fixed asap good as new  and that your excess is not too high :S .

Ours has gone in to our dealer today for its front wing/bumper to be mended (where Parker drove it into a metal fence at his work :wonder: ) and for the sunroof juddering to be looked at- although it has been fine all the time we have been on hol- may be it liked the sea air!

It will be gone a week!! and who knows what Parker will arrive home in as a courtesy car tonight!!

Anyway let us know how you get on

Best wishes

Lady Penelope

Checked with retail park and there are no cameras pointed at the area concerned. A few bays either side and it may have been possible to identify the culprit

The cost of replacement of bumper and labour is close to €600. Insurers say it should be repairable but not replaced for under €250 which also happens to be the excess on my policy.

Arrggghhhh!

Go to a bodyshop and they will have it like new for a lot less than £250.

Have you tried a hair drier on the slight dent as this can sometimes bring them out.

In this case, I think you'll be looking at repair the painted section and just accept the black plastic. Somebody will only do it again anyway :(
