Towbar - Arrggghhhh !

Featured Replies

Ok when i bought the car it had this little (50kg) towbar fitted. Finally had enough and decided to try and take the thing off.

Took the bumper off and the towbar is attached to the bumper re-inforcer. So do i need a need re-inforcer so that i can remove it.

Saw a few on ebay but they seem to mount differently to the current one (would post some pics but not figured that bit out yet)

Also they have cut a big chunk out of the bumper, any idea how much a new one will cost..

Cheers

Damn, I feel for you. I hate tow bars yuck!

Try the 'bay?

vRS isn't type-approved for towing, so you wouldn't have been permitted to tow with it anyway...

I found the same issue when I removed a towbar from our estate - got a second hand reinforcer from ebay at about £30 delivered.

I fibreglassed a small plate over the hole in the bumper and then filled it. Very difficult to see it without almost lying down!!
