Finance at main dealers

Featured Replies

Hi All,

After much tooing and froing, I have finally decided to trade my current VRS for a new diesel Scout. I realise I am going to have to move sharpish if an order is to go in before the end of the VAT free offer.....

Essentially, I want to take out a PCP/Lease purchase agreement for the new vehicle - however the Skoda finance terms seem to be fairly inflexible - I would prefer to have the agreement over a four year period, with a fairly modest final/balloon payment at the end. It seems as though Skoda's "official" finance will only go up to a 36 month period.

Having done a fair amount of digging on the net, various brokers seem to offer tailor-made finance packages with a variety of outfits. I will place an order with them if necessary, but I would prefer to deal directly with a dealer if at all possible.

Any members have any experience of main dealers dealing with finance houses other than the VAG Group?

Regards

Wild Rover.

My local dealer was prepared to go above 36 months, and even did me a quote for 42 without me asking for comparison with the 3 years I'd asked for. Have you actually asked the dealer about a 4 year term?

Thanks for the reply Raglits.

I had a test drive in the Yeti about a month back whilst still in the "decision" phase - and the firm indication was that the PCP would ordinarily be over 36 months at most. He didn't seem particularly interested in discounting on the Yeti, so things didn't really progress!

Haven't made any enquires regarding the Scout as yet, not too bothered regarding discounts etc. given the fantastic VAT saving. Although the DTD price of £17,300 could be thrown into the mix for negotiation purposes!

Try speaking to James from Allams (member on here).

He did me a cracking deal on a vRS I ordered on Saturday based on the DTD price.

Now that sounds like a plan.....

Have you tried your bank, you might get a better deal for finance there

I have financed my octy over 42 months. The main thing is that with skoda on a pcp your cannot do over 80k no matter how long you take the car over.

I do 30-35k pe year but am going to worry about the difference in 3 1/2 years.

42 months is a skoda offer, so maybe try another dealer.
