Bush replacement problem

Featured Replies

Got all the tools and parts - skoda sold me a big bag of bolts with the console bushes, but none of them match the old ones ive taken off and in reality ive only removed four per side to change the bush.

They told me that the bolts were all "stretch" ones which MUST be changed when doing the console bushes? Is this true, and if so. Why do none of them match the old ones?

Cheers guys

This has got me worried, ive bought powerflex bushes to replace mine.

Do i have to get new bolts too?

If so i hope skoda dont supply the wrong one eek!

Skoda also told me I wouldnt need the front wishbone bushes replacing, "as they never go" well one of them has.

You need...

6No Bolts for Balljoints - Part No N10127707

2No Bolts for Front Wishbone Bush - Part No N10141801 (VW Part No)

bugger, why do they use "use once only" bolts?

stupid modern day throw away society pah!

Thats what I thought - im just back from skoda, they gave me two more bolts for the ball joints and told me that "some bolts get updated", but im still not sure. The front wishbone bolts have an unthreaded part, near the top of the shaft. Yet all of the bolts they sold me are completly threaded?????
