Octavia Upper Strut Brace (eBaY link inside)

Featured Replies

same as fitting the s3 one drill strut tops nut n bolt fasten. its the lower one that makes the most difference ive heard

looks nice n shiny for £32 tho, bout the same as an s3 one B)

FK stuff is usually TUV approved so won't be too bad. Most peeps think the lower S3 brace is most effective, that's my next job. Try a search there is a couple of fitting guides knocking about, or try Rob's pimpmy skoda site think there's a fitting guide on there. Most peeps use stainless nuts and bolts for fixing.

my car is low as fook, and the brace will be the lowest part of the car and will take an absolute battering! (my front bumper already scrapes)

You will get away with the lower one no probs mate its flat!.. i like the look of the FK ones to.i was thinking about one and painting it yellow to match my car!

will the s3 brace fit a fabia vrs? (mK1)

no, i dnt think it does.

Anyone used/fitted the above?

Is it worth fitting one? (have all uprated bushes inc coilovers)

Also how are they fitted? do you have to drill into the chassis then use a nut and bolt?

bottom brace is the one to go for, my car is lowered with the S3 lower brace on and its fine, the top brace is just for show (looks cool!)

If fitted with the bottom brace, the top brace is not just for show, it completes what then becomes a square, as without it, its just a three sided set up that still allows the top stuts to flex.

Word of warning though, have a front side shunt with the braces fitted and the impact is also transferred across the car to the other side of the car.

Saw this when the new owner of my old Octy vRS had a shunt.

Is it not the leon one?

Leon is same as the vRS.

Fabia is different though.

I have both the S3 lower and upper brace and they compliment each other well.

Some folks have used the lower captive nuts that come with the lower brace for teh upper brace as you then get a thred in teh hole to just allow bolting donw from the top, instead of messing around with fitting a nut up from underneath the strut top..

You may need to check that ebay item fits the VRS as the Leon / S3 brace has quite a curve on one end to get around the black plastic trunking covering wiring loom. Suppose all golfs and octy has that trunking but i see no bend on that ebay item.

Here is a picture, its not very good though....And it looks thicker than it is as the bottom has foam stuck to it.
