Heater resistor pack repair?

Featured Replies

Very posible - TL494 would give an output decided on by feedback ,at HF to control some Semi conductor .

I used an SG3525 because I had one on hand. For this application, you could probably just use a 555.

The blower switch also provides a signal to the fan controller to turn on the a/c, so you need a circuit that can be controlled by 12V inputs. I just connected a diode from each of the inputs to power the circuit and the fan controller. A resistor from each input controls the width.

Hi All,

Just a quick recap. I sent my Roomster (2007) Heater Resistor ( Rheostat ) to www.BLOWER-MOTOR-RESISTOR.co.uk. They repaired the unit & sent the unit back within 3 working days, I fitted the unit this morning & all is working well.

I even had an email from them with the tracking number for the parcel. All in all great service & an quite easy DIY job to do.

Cheers Paul J

Remember to check the pollen filter. Low fan settings and a filter that needs replacing will eventually see off the resistor.
