all dependant on the rollig road you use, of all the various rolling roads i have used (which is quite a few because im sad :giggle: ) id say if you want to find out an accurate figures for a standard car then take it to a dyno dynamics rolling road. everytime i have been to a rolling road at one all the std cars have always made exactly as the manufacturer claims..

when you take it to other rollers they seem to make more, and peoplego Wow!, my cars making 15hp more than standard, wwhen in fact it very likely isnt.

That said when i have used AMDs rolling road in the past it has always massively over read the figures, however the last RR day there they were reading very accurately with guys making as expected if not less than they thought they would. We came to the conclusion that since they have to tune their BTCC car on their rollers, they would have had it re-calibrated to pass the BTCC scrutineering.

where abouts are you located in the UK as there might be a decent set of rollers near you.

Ta - I'm near Brighton Sx, but I'm not all that bothered with putting my own car on the rollers. It's just I keep hearing stories that the manufacturer's quoted bhp is purposely lower than it really is, and the car often feels as though it has more grunt than it ought to!

i think its the torque that you are feeling really. these engines have a really good consistent spread of torque. i your car is more powerful it would very likely only be a small amount,

Theirs a few threads discussing this. The general concensus seems to be that the 1.8Tsi is developing 180bhp from the factory.

My first Octy was a Mk1 vRS (listed as 180 bhp). My Mk 2 TSi doesn't feel any less powerful, though I know this is a bit subjective.

what are they std?

160 :-)

My 2.0 tSi VRS made exactly 197 on AMD rollers.... which is spot on standard manufacturers.

Is it not 208bhp for the TSi (engine code CCZA) and 197bhp for the TFSi (engine code BWA) ?
