Wear 'n tear

Featured Replies

Mixed driving, nothing too OTT, generally legal vRS motoring - please share your experiences with track rod end and arb droplinks and bushes wear. What mileage did you need to replace?

I'm going to be replacing the front (both sides) track rod ends, drop links and bottom ball joints on my vrs at the weekend as there is a clunk on the drivers side when setting off from a stand still which has just recently appeared ??

It's lowered on coilovers aswell.

It's just about to turn 70k and I had the cupra and powerflex bushes done at about 60k I think

Cheers, mine aren't as tight as they used to be but no real free play. I'm at nearly 50k so thinking of a bit of preventative maintenance....

Mine have gone at 33000

Though 2 weeks ago I had a faulty steering rack which probably has not helped. After having a new one fitted I could see the amount of movement in these bushes.

Was also more noticeable after I had new tyres fitted 3 weeks ago also.

Going in this coming tuesday for new front bushes - poweflex/seat cupra
