Well I did the test drive today!!!!

Featured Replies

Hi,

I must tell you about my test drive of the fabia vrs I am so excited  I was sure that because the car seemed brilliant on paper that it would let me down on the test drive, how wrong was I, thanks for all your advice on my other thread.

i managed to get the car for 2 hours this afternoon, just me and the husband so that was a good start. I knew there was no way I could make a proper judgement to part with hard earned cash on a twenty minute drive round the block with some sales geezer in the back.

For starters I wasn't too impressed with how the gear stick felt, sorry I can't describe what I mean apart from changing gear with it didn't feel meaty enough but as soon as I'd driven a couple of hundres yards down the road it didn't seem an issue atall. The cd player does play cdr's which was a relief as I have loads. The thing that impressed me most was how responsive the engine is, especially putting my foot down in the higher gears going uphill, I'm sure I will never get to use all it's potential. It's so impressive I couldn't get rid of the cheesy grin it gave me for ages, by the end of the two hours i felt like I'd been to alton towers.

The husband thinks it's a licence loser in my case because it feels so nice that I found myself driving much faster than it felt. Then when I finally let him have a drive he did a ton down one of our only decent roads that we have where we live!

I am definetely getting one of these babys and now I know about drivethedeal.com I think thats where I'm gonna go, little bit worried about when I pick it up though in case of spotting any damage what would happen then?

Pixi furby lover :P

Hmm. Sounds like it was just about ok then?:D

Enjoy ;)

 You know you wanna... Then you know you wanna get a PD160 intake pipe, some other bits, then head in the direction of one of our well known reputable tuners. ;)

Like it then huh......seriously it gets even better the more it's driven.

Sounds like you need to order one with cruise control to keep your driving licence under control! Glad you liked it. :)

I know the feeling! For the fist few weeks with mine when accelerating I wasn't so much smiling as laughing out loud!

tins.co.uk offer everything that drivethedeal have but they're a bit cheaper and the delivery time was quicker... excellent service too.

Print off a few quotes from internet brokers and then go back to all the local dealers and see what they can do to match the quotes.

They might not be spot on but its possibly worth paying the extra for piece of mind if they get very close.

I am glad you liked the test drive  I had myine for 1 hour and that was enough for me, then sadly went on the slippery slope of modding and here i am now still with a cheesy grin every time i accelerate. :D
