Yeti Adventure - The Heartbeat Run

Featured Replies

Hope you all had a great day look to have had good weather. There were probably more SM's to be seen in Pickering than on my trip north of the border. Saw only two both on M74 silver one heading south looked to have child sun blinds in the side windows. The other was dark blue north bound with roof box and bike on roof overtook this then slowed to let it pass just to get my daily fix.

Hi Kev,

pleased to hear you enjoyed the run round the moors and glad to see you got home OK, as you had quite a bit of additional driving to do.

Sounds like that impressive Monster of yours has done good on the fuel front too :)

Kind regards,

TP

After a great day out with fellow Monster owners finished off with a nice Fish & Chips, time for the drive home in the evening sunshine :)

For those interested the route taken was as follows;

Pickering - A169 to Hole of Horcum

Hole of Horcum A169 - To Goathland (via the 'Low Moor' road, just past Eller Beck Bridge)

Goathland - Beck Hole (via Beck Hole Road; turning for the car park and public loo's in Goathland)

Beck Hole - Goathland (Station) (continue along Beck Hole Road out of the village and climb up onto the moors turn right onto Cow Wath Bank back to Goathland)

Goathland - Wheeldale 'Roman Road' (Follow signs for Egton; turn right just past the church from the village centre. Travel along this road for three or 4 miles and look out for a very small crossroads signposted left 'Roman Road'. Take this turning left down and slightly back on yourself on a single track road that after a few hundred yards climbs to a gate. Open the gate and drive through but don't forget to stop and close it. Drive a short distance and turn left at a 'T' junction)

Roman Road - Cropton (Look out for the Cropton Turning on the right after travelling a mile or two through a area of open woodland)

Cropton - Rosedale Abbey (drive part way through Cropton village and look out for the turning to Rosedale to your right)

Rosedale Abbey - Egton Bridge & Egton (entering Rosedale stay right and follow signs for Egton and parking)

Egton - Grosmont (after entering Egton look out for a small side road on the right sign posted to Grosmont)

Grosmont - Whitby

My concluding photo's from Yesterday :)

Morning to everyone who was on the North Yorks Run yesterday. Glennis and I really enjoyed it. Very scenic route , lots to see and great to swap stories. TP, our leader did us proud. Looked on the site this morning to see if there was any feedback , expecting a line or two and was amazed at how quickly and extensively the foto's and comments have been posted! We will upload ours ASAP but my computer skills are limited so it will take a day or two.

Fortunately my map reading is better so we will organise a similar event round Teesdale and Weardale or even the Lake District some time in the autumn. By then there will be more SM's on the road so a bigger crowd might be possible.... We could even coin it ," The SM CONVOY "

Cheers
