DSG fuel consumption

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've had a look through the other fuel consumption threads and haven't been able to find this info, but could anyone with the FL dsg give me an idea of what kind of consumption i'll get - hopefully will be picking my SE in red up soon :-)

p.s would also be interested in the stats for any 85/105bhp TSI manuals

Thanks!

DSG consumption should be almost identical to the manual car.

Will be interested to hear how you get on with the DSG and fuel economy so have an idea when mine gets built seems like ages away.

My 1.2tsi 85 manual averages between 45-55mpg at the moment.

I too was very keen on the 1.2TSI DSG, but was not convinced about the fuel consumption. The mileage I do 25-28K per year I have been getting 50.6 out of a 2.0TDI Passat, this figure is very close to the official combined figure. I am confident I will be able to reach and perhaps better the combined 67 MPG for the TDI Fabia

I know turbo petrol Vauxhalls are heavy on fuel and get no where near the combined figure, so was dubious about the TSI. I have asked questions on here and have trawled through the threads but could not get any info to prove the figure was achievable.

I did have a short test drive in a manual 1.2 TSI (105) and over an urban route got 41.6 MPG. Yesterday before I ordered my car I did the same route in the Passat and got 46mpg, this to me indicates the economy may not be a good as suggested. Anyway, I went into the dealer expecting to order the 1.2 TSI DSG Elegance, but ended up ordering the Diesel 105 BHP

Hope this helps

I think the general experience of 7 speed dsgs is that they deliver similar economy to the manual with the same engine. You probably won't quite achieve the figures in the brochure (53 mpg combined) unless you drive very carefully, but high 40s should be achievable.
