Brake Problem?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I changed to Audi TT 312's on my fabia VRS a few thousand miles ago, great job and no probs. I'm using Red Stuff pads too.

Something weird is happening recently now when I brake, even lightly I fell like a 'kickback' on the steering wheel.....When I brake it kinda feels like the steering wheel pulls to the left(very minimal). There don't seem to be any strange noises coming from brakes either.

Any ideas??

Thanks in advance peeps

misaligned brake response?

Right hand side brake not braking as well as the left?

Wheel alignment?

Could be a fair few things I would have thought...

A kind MOT station could check brakng efficiencies on each wheel ??

Tyre pressures are low on ons side?

Brakes caliper seized or seizing

Brake fluid low

As mentioned above MOT station should confirm the problem for you...

Keep us posted..

I had this - slow puncture on one side.

Does anyone else think they are initially poor in the wet? Almost like they have to wipe the water off then then they bite ferociously?

Have a look at the post on brake judder. The explanation of brake wear/bedding etc may be of interest. It was an eye-opener to me!

Thanks for your comments so far,

Checked the tyre pressure, all 4's are fine too. In relation to other stuff mentioned....I'll maybe pop down to the MOT centre.....tho I don't know anyone who works there! Is it a case of turning up and asking nicely or what? lol

I had problem with master cylinder a few weeks ago but everything seems fine, so I'll get the mechanic to run his eye over everything next week......I've tried the emergency stop a few time(in a safe enviroment) and braking all seems normal enough apart from this slight pull to the left and I noticed today actually there is a small 'bang' when I brake? (only way I can best descirbe it)

i know kwik fit are doing a free brake check at the moment maybe put it into them see what they say then go for a second opinion somewhere???
