im guessing seeing my brothers 2001 with 86k just went for £3000 after a day of being for sale

and Rich just sold his 2005 with 23k for £6000 with 26k and due the cambelt

and that the dealer offered more than that for a trade in

your either having a laugh with me ..

missread the 13,000 for 130,000

or you just wanted to be polite and call me a c##t :x

Yes it wont sale at a drop of a penny, lol unless i put it up for £4500 that is

its fair guesses im looking at, not insults l :wait:

:finger: this is a handdy one lol

but dont take me as being offensive

ive put it as a giggles :D

i knew you were avin a larf :giggle: which is why i plotted my sarcasm wisely lol

but that language about the 20s lol tut :swear:

actually tbh the cars doesnt ride like people think :punch:

its not mk2 golf on coilovers, and is a nicer ride than when my brother had the 225/40/18s and weitec springs

i doubt id sell my toy, it just crosses my starnge and warped mind at time, and i have a burning urge for a R32:clap:

dont sell it more fun than the r32

  • Author

i will be honest, after a drive i think to keep it lol:p

i really dont like the rock and a hard place thing :wall:

lol it hasnt moved for better part of 3 weeks this time lol

but looks very cool sat there

I would say 5.5-6k if you want to sell it in a reasonable time. When I was looking for mine I saw a silver 54 plate one for 6k at a main dealer with 13k on the clock. It was snapped up before I could get it.The problem is modifications are worth nothing to the value of the car and are very personal to the owner. I would put it back to standard for starters. The other thing to bare in mind is the colour. I love them in red, but not everyone else does. If you put it up for 6-7k your then getting in to the Octavia 2 vRS price band for some higher mileage ones. I would keep it as your nothing going to get something as mint with as low miles for the price it will get.

The alternative is to pick the price you think its worth and put it on pistonheads as its free the advertise. Then you can gauge the interest.

If you look on the trader all the sub 60k cars are under 6k.

:giggle: i wouldnt be in a rush. it would pretty much be for up for whatever and wait. rich just sold his with 26k for £6000

so i got no doubt id get that, Iagree pistonheads is the best place other than on here

putting back to standard tho is not a option

Im aware it now specialist market, with the price of mk2s tho, theres always people like me who would go for low miles over years, same as the R32s ive peeked at ;) found some nice low milers mk4s but more money than the high miles mk5s

the only advantage is that its now pro nye on the lowest mileage mk1s and it has a good rep on here

i just have to make the horrible choice of to sell or not emoticon-0106-crying.gif

its just nice to get random opinions

think about it from a buyers perspective. i would personally buy a car with triple the milage of that for 3-4k less. i think by pricing it so highly it will never sell, saying that all of my previous cars i overpriced just to test the water, both sold for that price so you never know

I would always pay more for the right car. When I bought mine there were cheaper ones about but the condition, mileage and age were all good and the seller was genuine which made the deal. I have had a few cars that i have got them to the perfect point of tune / style for me but never kept them long enough to enjoy them. Keep it for another 12 months as the value wont drop a great deal then re-access

it will very much be to the right person no doubt

personally im the oppisit, i want the lowest mileage version as i can and in as good condition

i dont expect it to go rite away for the price i start at , like you said really, until you try you dont really know what the bites will be like :wonder:

It like anything. it all about who looking at the time :S like b4, there was breifly a very nice daftly low miles mk4 r32 on pistonheads emoticon-0106-crying.gif for what seemed like minutes - gutted emoticon-0106-crying.gif

lol ideally i need someone who shops for cars like me  i prefer the mk1 vrs so like the R32s

id go for a as new mk1 or mk4 golf over a high miles mk2 octy or mk5 golf .

its just waiting . if however i was in a rush id be fooked and would be on the £6k marker

:p if it gets put up for sell, i keep changing my mind:giggle:

If you are not driving it that often why keep it.

Sell for the best value and you can always buy another one.

To hold onto a car coz it has low miles but without actually driving it that often just seems a waste, unless the car is a classic and will start increasing in value.

I would get a MK 4 R32 over a Mk 5 one if it was me, and drive that around for a while. You could also get something like a S3 or S4 for the money you could sell him for.

The mileage thing has never got me, as if the car has full service and is looked after I would get a higher mileage motor and save the pounds

of course your choice.....

theres some mk4s for arond £10 - £11 with mid to high 30s on :smirk: the thoughts do float around in my head

since we got the "family" Altea the octy has moved once i think :giggle:

where as the mk5s ive peeked are about £15 - £16 with about 25 - 30,000 miles

the mk4s are a big drop in insurance and the tax too lol

Edited by Lloyd55vrs

the prob you have even if it stays the same milage it will go down in value but will still need the services etc

and more to the point engines like to be run not sat still doing nowt. you should make sure your running up to temp every week or 2 weeks or seals will dry out and probs will occur

  • Author

Its the last few weeks im aware its not moving,

Before then he would go out on the weekends and would do the inters run.

I dunno y lately its all stopped, i know weve had some bad news so whether thats caused my intrest to drop abit.

The value is bound to drop which is why it crossed my mind to do it now when the price would be better.

or i just try and get the love back

it was very much a case of seeing what it may be worth and how much of a dent the octy would make in the R32 price
