Simplistic Yeti design

Seeing these pics on the French forum made me realise what a blob the Tiguan is:

You can't just draw the Tiguan's shape in a few strokes since the details are what make the car. The Yeti is the opposite. You CAN draw the car with a few strokes and you know exactly what you are looking it. So I just did that:

This is also why I don't like the Yeti in dark colours as you totally lose that B-pillar visually.

i take it u didnt take O level art lol

I know the B pillar kink is a "feature" - however I have wondered would it look better in the (shiny?) black, as per the A and C pillars - to give a totally floating roof ?

"Oh I was just having a snooze in the shade...." said The SM yawning..."BUT ok I am now awake and ready to sneak up on that Tig thingy AND SHOW HIM WHO'S THE COOLEST"

900000 - BRILLIANT...Please, oh please start a Yeti cartoon strip thread  It would be so cool B) and a lot of fun

Actually think that's quite a B) sketch; reminds me of Take Hart :)

You should start writing a series of "Mr Yeti" books :giggle:

900000,

Great sketch, you hit the cartoon version of the SM perfectly.

On the other hand, in the front view of the SM and Tigger, if you check the lines formed by the different elements of the front, the Tigger 's lines do flow beter and are less busy, where there is little co-play in the visual lines of the various bits on the Yeti front. In all the other aspects, I agree with you, but from the front, the Yeti lacks a clear signature. It is difficlt from a distance to distinguish between a Yeti and a Roomster, which has the same confusion and from some of the Suzuki models of similar size.

BTW, I like the B-pillar signature in body colour - black would make it disappear.

It is not nearly as bad as Audi's insistance to make all their cars look exactly the same. They just Xerox the tired old A4 design as Small, Medium and Large. The new A8 won't be noticed by a single soul on the streets as it looks EXACTLY like an A4. So instead of the range topper being a trend setter it looks like car from TWO rungs lower down the ladder!!! Now which MD wants to be upstaged by his young sales rep's A4 S-line?!

As to the Yeti nose: The fog lamps are pretty distinctive. No other car has that bar the Rolls Royce Phantom and you won't mistake that for a Yeti!
