Ok, i need a laptop for under £350 prefere £300 but £300-£350 budget.

requirements are for a secondry school stuff - not a games m/c but run of the mill stuff. I know its pretty hard to get anything at this price but HPs out of the price, looked at dell but i thought they were overpriced for what they are so help please and any links. Would prefer dual core but i think im pushing it on this price range.

The last one could be a good deal if you/ child is any good with computers and is willing to install Linux on it. Will do Word, MSN, iTunes type software and most other things Windows can do.

Avoid celeron on a laptop - kills the battery. Also avoid acer! Go for intel core2duo or i3 if you can stretch. Dell are the best for the price - go over to the dell outlet and pick up a bargain.
