Wheel liner foam

Featured Replies

Can anyone help? I took the nearside front wheel arch liner off today and discovered a 'T' shaped piece of high density grey foam floating about. Should it be there and if so exactly where should it be placed? It looks to have been made to specfically fit into a certain location between the wheel arch and the liner.

It could be there to help reduce road noise coming from the tyres/wheels. You can normally see the foam in the rear wheel arch as well.

Thanks for the suggestion but this foam was located between the arch liner and the arch itself so it is not visible when the liner is in place. It looks like it is meant to provide rigidity to the liner or to protect something in the wheel arch area. As I say it is shaped like a slanted 'T' and is approximately 8 inches long across the top of the 'T'.

Hoorah! Yes that is the item exactly, big thanks

I guess it should be glued to the liner perhaps to stop it moving about.
