I used the 7 day cover when I picked mine up last December. I expected a call to give me a proper quote - I actually expected to be hounded. But I never heard a peep from anyone.

We phoned Skoda Ins today to activate the 7 days insurance therefore allowing the dealer to tax the car, they offered to quote on the annual policy and came in to be the best of the bunch beating all the guys in the insurance section on here!!!

Good news. They were almost the best for me.

we got 7 days free cover with the BMW, there quote was also the best of anyone and in the event of repair it will be taken to a BMW dealer for repairs, so guarantees to be back to original condition i'd hope!

I used the 7 days free cover as it was a no hassle way to get the car taxed and insured.

The only drawback is the free policy has a £500 excess - so be careful driving your car back from the dealer!

Skoda did a full quote of £1200 for me.

I paid £480 in the end.
