Hi lads, just wondering if any one has put together a handy front mount IC for the diesel octavia with easy to get parts from a breakers?

Does a standard intercooler from a certain car work well with inlet and outlet on the same side, or has any one turned the rad on its side etc?

Ive an old 90bhp tdi so I could never justify buying a proper kit :p I would get a kick out of spending a good evening at it though.

Anyone got anything?

Be suprised if anyone has done this to a 90bhp tdi, as it would be a lot of work for nothing.....and could possibly make a slow car even slower.

IMO I'd forget it and go spend a good evening in the pub

i probably should have mentioned that this would be going with a T4 injectors and a remap.

A lads on Vagdrivers.net got 138bhp on papers this way.

It may be a litle benifitial with this in mind...but probably still not worth the bother.

In that case I'd have the remap done first and see how it goes

You might find the OEM smic copes quite well at that sort of power output.

I have similar power to the setup you are looking at and it does suffer from heatsoak so if you can get the parts cheaply there is no harm in it. You might want to mod further later on and the FMIC is a good start. i.e VNT17 and larger nozzles

If you havent sourced your T4 injectors already I know a guy that has some available -genuine Bosch T4 injectors so pm me if you are interested.
