Check the oil sensor is plugged in securely.. happend to a mates polo once it was just a loose oil sensor

Where can I find such a thing?

Thanks

I believe you will have a spanner icon too, sure that this will just be the service reminder not being reset. You can reset it yourself, 'how to' readily available on the net or can be found in the user manual

Alex

To be honest I dont know where the oil sensor is but a guess would be mounted on the engine somewhere around the oil filter or on the head

Lift the bonnett and take a good visual inspection just push any sensor you see and if it clicks it means it was loose..

Sorry maybe somebody else could point you in the exact location of the sensor.. failing this your only choice would be to perform a diagnostics test

The word OIL is just a service indication and means that whoever did your service has not reset the display when they completed the service.

:giggle: Could may well be the Oil change/Service inspection warning on the digital text display where it reads your mileage if so its a simple reset

Is this OIL on all the time or does it go away and a symbol of a spanner appear after a few miles? If this spanner shows then it is what people have suggested (service indicator).

I hope there is not any red/yellow lights that stay on, when the engine is started, if so it is a lot more serious.
