Fabia vRS buying advice please

Featured Replies

Hi

Me and my better half are going to Scotland tommorow evening to view a nice looking standard, black fabia vrs, thats done 55K and was registered in 2006.

I already have an octy vrs and want to buy a fabia for my wife to replace her KA lux.

And was just wondering if there was any specific fabia problems/issues I should be looking out for ???

Thank you

Bill.

Rear brake discs, they corrode around the edge of the disc mines 3 years old and done 38,000 and needs new ones so it might have been done as it was picked up on the MOT.

the one on pistonheads with leather seats?

looks nice

By the time you get to Scotland tonight it should have rained (again!) so you can check the rear doors for water ingress (quite common). Listen out for knocking from the front of the car which can be arb bushes, droplinks or console bushes. As its a 2006 car I think it will have the BLT engine so see if there is any hesitation at around 1800rpm. All of these things are pretty minor and cheap enough to get fixed. Other than that it's all the standard stuff - make sure everything works (rear washer pipes can pop off, sometimes the electric windows don't work as they should), no signs of accident damage, get an HPI check done etc etc.

Good luck
