Average for last couple of months - 55mpg accurately measured - mixed, mainly motorway driving.

. . . . . also anyone know where i can get the best deal on one?

Drive the Deal is the place to start and then armed with that quote, see whether your local dealer(s) can match or get close to the deal.

Bear in mind that a part ex will complicate the issue as you won't be able to do a p/x with the DtD dealer.

Drive the deal have this cheap- SKODA OCTAVIA DIESEL HATCHBACK 1.6 TDI CR S 5dr DSG new for £13,800. Probably a cancelled order.

Mind you I don't know how much they are list price, mayby it's not such a bargain.

As others have said, start with a quote from DriveTheDeal and work from there. Someone mentioned the other day that DTD only includes 6 months road tax, but as the road tax is so low on the 1.6CR it shouldn't make too much difference. Also, Skoda are still doing the current VAT offer so you'll not pay the equivalent on the VAT (17.5%) on the list price. Whether a dealer will want to haggle much past that price remains to be seen.

I'm seeing 50MPG across all driving from my 1.9TDI so I'd hope/expect to see a little more from a 1.6CR, so 55MPG real life figures sound reasonable.

DtD default to 6 months RFL, but it gives you the option of selecting 12 months and the price is adjusted accordingly.

Hi, we have ordered the Elegance Estate 1.6 cr, we took one out for a spin and covered various roads, speeds and conditions and the car returned approx 55mpg,the car had covered 5k ish.

I too contacted DTD and then armed with a provable price contacted about 15 dealers countrywide in an attempt for them to beat it.

Some were way off the mark and a few somewhat nearer, however my local Dealer who we have dealt with before were obviously willing to help, the Dealer Principle contacted me directly and asked what he had to reasonably do to secure the deal,as a result they now have our order.

Delivery date to be confirmed, however we are in no real rush

[carquake website is another good source to start. i was recommended a dealer by a friend and they matched carquakes price.

Well, here in Portugal most people buy the 1.6 tdi cr like I did.

Even though it´s only a 5 speed I was suprised how it could move, just over 2000km, and on the maxidot has an average fuel consumption of 5.8L/100km from new.

2 weeks ago went out for the weekend and filled it up, reset de trip and did 850km until de reserve light came on.

Very smooth, confortable (16"), kids have lot´s of space and de AC works 5*****.
