Dump valve

ideally you will need a re-ciculating dump valve not atmospheric which that one is, it will cause a cel light to appear. the forge 007p is one of the favourites to use http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Forge-007P-Diverter-Valve-VAG-1-8-20v-Turbo-Awesome-/220603438203?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item335cfd547b

awesome are also a site sponsor so speak to them

Thanks for that i did wonder if it would cause probs, is the forge one quite or does it make the whoosh noise?

Cheers

if fitted with the standard airbox its quiet, but fit either an ind kit or CAI (cold air intake) and it is louder

Thats just a filter, you would need a pipe as well to go between the filter and the tubing to the turbo, the filter has to sit down in the bumper underneath the battery so it gets cold air and not warm air from the engine bay. So it looks like this

If you want the whooosh noise without an induction kit, buy a Split-R dv.

I had one for the last few months but the whoooosh noise was a bit chavvy so changed to a 007P. With the 007P you can still hear the whooosh noise but only from inside the car.

Thanks can you recommend an induction kit also something not too pricey if poss?

would something like this do the job http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220393815507&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Cheers

give oggy a shout he's selling a carbonio CAI http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/166868-mk1-octavia-vrs-carbonio-cai/

i used to run the split r and it was shocking IMO, good if you dnt want the whoosh noise as it was quiet on every setting, moved to 007p and its a lot better valve and cheaper without the hassle of adjusting it all the while

I found my Split-R was loud enough (too loud in fact)

the reason why people sell them quickly is because they put them on remapped cars and don't realise you have to tighten the spring because of the higher boost, otherwise the valve will leak and you get fault codes etc. Assuming it is set up correctly (top turned 15-18 clicks) it works fine on a standard car running 10psi.
