Black Roof Rails

Featured Replies

Had a problem with my roof rail, off side rear cover flew of whilst driving, on inspection all 4 rear end covers just seem to snap on (other side was also loose)

maybe worth checking if yours are OK.

Thanks for that.. I'd never thought of that.. Will include that in my check when I pick it up.

Me too :)

Yep - checked out the roof rails - they do appear to snap on, but are pretty firm on there. I'd need some sort of leverage tool to remove them..

Maybe the one that came off your car wasn't attached properly? None of mine will come off by pulling at them, so I doubt they are comming off at high speeds.

Having said that, I have neem known to be wrong about things in the past - so will let you know (and Skoda UK) if they do come off.

Mine came off with the second good wash. I think it is securely on, but I didn't notice the problem with the first wash. I didn't get it back on as securely as I would like.

Old thread revival!

Having read this thread and others when I first got my Yeti I wondered how it could happen as it seemed to be fixed so firmly. Cleaning the car last month I noticed there is more of a gap around the trim and it's slightly loose. It looks like the plastic is warping slightly towards the thinner end. I guess a stretch of hot weather might accelerate this causing it to become loose. I'll be trying some heavy duty adhesive pads once it's dry and see how that goes.
