fabia VRs seat adjustment

Featured Replies

anyone had any problem with fabia front seat adjustment. Me and wife both drive the fabia and when I reposition the seat the catch doesn't always locate properly and moves with an awful spring twang noise when I brake or accelerate. Horrible feeling that the catch will fail. Need to speak to the dealer about it. Anyone else have this?

Also going to the dealer to have the ABS sensor looked at. Sometimes the ABS light comes on, the ABS doesn't work and most surprisingly big reduction in power. Only way out is to turn the engine off, restart and hope it resets !

STEW

I always give the seat a good shove after adjusting it to make sure it's locked in place

Not had any problems with the ABS though - a reduction in power sounds more like the ASR

It's pretty normal for most cars - always verify when moving your seat is locks in place. The only exception to this would be electrically adjustable ones, but in every single car I've driven besides those, you get the same kinda thing.

The 'twang' you get is due to the spring being able to hammer that hook down where it belongs to keep your seat firmly in place. IMHO it's better that way as you notice it and it reminds you to check first next time ;)
