Arghh Help!

Featured Replies

Right I've been told to order my new car, I've decided I'm going for: -

VRS

Diesel

Manual

Space Saver

Maxi-dot

Auto Dimming mirror / auto wipers / auto lights

I can't decide on the following

Either Race Blue or Candy White

Is Aux MDI a necessity with SD card in Bolero??

Rear Parking Sensors

What are your thoughts?

Blue, no MDI and yes RPS.

White (saves 400 quid) but with Mdi and sensors - like mine ;-)

hatch or wagon?

Candy White, Black wheels, Black wing mirrors and Black roof, and only get RPS if your a women who cant park!

Sorry its a hatch

The SD card is brilliant. You dont ever need CD's or the iPod thingymajig

Rear sensors are a must as is the spare wheel

Candy white? Not for me!

Blue...No too common

Maxidot is OK..Get the DSG box and its free with the MF Steering wheel thrown in

Definate yes to the parking sensors if only for future resale value, even if you think you wont use them. I drive articulated lorries and think the parking sensors are a godsend with the poor rear visibility of modern cars.

I would choose the blue over the white, purely as I see white as the 'fad' colour of the moment and think it will soon go out of trend (just like last time it was popular) and again with future value in mind of course

MDI - No

Blue, definitely rear parking sensors (I have an estate, but apparently the hatch is quite hard to see out of, and they're cheaper than a bumper repair if you hit something :p ), MDI no (I have it, but could cope fine with an SD card).

Agree with space saver and maxidot, personally think auto wipers would drive me mad!

Red?

I was going to get MDI. I'm so glad I didn't. The SD card takes over from an iPod. I think its marvellous.

Dill

Rear Sensors

White

no MDI

:)

I also thought blue was too common hence looking at White, I'm not entirely sure about red though.

I think I'll bypass the MDI and stick to a mahoosive SD card!

BLACK..................... B)

Stop it! No more ideas!

When I ordered decided on Race Blue over white.

Although I have to say anthracite looks good and would possibly of gone for that except we have a mini in that colour.

Don't get white.

Make sure you know how to create playlists then as the Bolero is shockingly slow at reading SD cards...

Don't get white.

Colour - your choice, but race blue looks pretty awesome. But there are a lot of them. Black? - a nightmare to keep clean, but if you can live with that then it's ok and it looks stunning when spotless.

Straight red looks pretty good I think, I saw a red Vrs the other day and thought how good it looked. Anthracite? Perhaps a more unusual choice. I rather like this one and in fact my 1.8Tsi is this colour. The wife liked it.

White. This may be unpopular in a couple of years time. I have only ever had one white car, a Skoda believe it or not - a White Rapide with some tuning bits. I don't think I will ever have another; too much like the old days when all the fleet cars were white cos it was cheaper.

Not too sure what white will age like now we have water based paints. White, (like red), was always prone to going flat.

On balance, if I am going to get another Octy in 3 or 4 years time and I'm hard pushed to think of a more complete car, then it will be a Vrs and the colour? ...............Race blue, it's just amazing. One of the best colours that I have ever seen on any car. Ever.

How about a vote for silver ??

I have anthracite which I love; but had silver a while ago and it looks great on the VRS and not many around either. Although every other car out there is this colour.......

Rear parking Sensors yes.

Colour, what image are you looking for

IMO Blue is a bit racer & also common, White a bit more discerning but "older" & probably harder to re sell but if a company car not a problem

Anthracite I find strangely apealing, Silver a safe bet & tends to blend well, Blue or White both stand out if you are pushing on a bit, handy for joe public to see you coming but handy for plod as well.

I always try & see the model Im looking fior in the colour Im considering before I order, If you fancy that a few calls to dealers will do that, s/hand will suffice for the exercise you are doing
