New vRS

Featured Replies

Well have had my nice shiny new vRS delivered, and yes like all others I am loving it... :)

However there is just one thing bothering me. I got the Sat Nav as my company were paying for it, but stupidly did not get the CD Changer. Did you know that my Sat Nav can't play actual audio cd's?

So here I am with a

the vrs i drove as a test car had the blaupunkt satnav system and that played cd`s fine, no cd-changer. You have realised you need to flip the front down to put the cd`s in?

That is very interesting, as this Sat Nav system accepts the cd rom without flipping the front down. When I place the audio cd into the cd rom slot it refuses it saying "invalid disc"

Nah the factory system requires a CD changer to play CD's.

The CD slot in the headunit is just for the nav CD's.

Cheers for that Ross, saves me reading this bloody manual back to front a million times. Have to say I am quite amazed that it costs so much and yet can't oplay cd's yet I would have had a cd player as standard. :(

The sat nav headunit is common to all VAG vehicles. It doesnt play CD's as on the Audi models you can have either a CD changer, MP3 player or Mini disc set up to go with it.

But really it should come with a changer, and you should have been told it doesnt by the salesman.

So Ross, could you tell me what cd changer I should be buying?? Seen a few second hand around and was wondering if they were compatable with my sat Nav unit.

Cheers

Ben

Basically any Panasonic 6 CD changer from VW/Audi/SEAT or Skoda. Then you need the cable if not supplied with the changer (same as any cable for any of the VAG headunits).

I think rich1068 may have had one on here for sale, drop him a PM.
