Spec Changes - do they keep removing things?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just looking at the specs of the car i just ordered.

I can see the umbrella has been removed

Can you tell me if the foot-well and under seat lighting is still on the car?

I am sure I saw it somewhere but it is not mentioned in the latest brochure, If they have removed this it is becoming less and less the luxury bargain!

I can get a C Class Merc Elegance for £5 more a month.. just liked the extra space, but not if they keep removing things.

Please can someone put my mind at ease.

My 3.6 Elegance was delivered a couple of weeks ago - both footwell and underseat lighting are present.

Hill Hold Control was missing as it is not technically possible for this to be fitted to the 6-speed DSG on the V6 model - Skoda have compensated me for this as the brochure stated it was standard. I believe it is standard on the 7-speed DSG on the 1.8Tsi.

The Warning Triangle was also missing and has now been taken out of the brochures, but as it was in the January brochure I ordered from, this has also now been delivered.

The underseat footrests in the back I've seen in pictures are not standard. I'd like some but can't see them in any accessories brochure - anyone know where these are?

PS. The umbrella was present.

Who compares a Superb with a C class in the first place?

Who compares a Superb with a C class in the first place?

Most company car drivers who are "user choosers" like myself will be comparing the Superb with the BMW 3 series, Merc C class, Audi A4 etc.

But try getting the sat nav, xenons, sensors, etc, etc, etc for just £5 / month more and your going to be dissapointed!

Looking and ordered an SE as I dont like leather, and in this case xenons and sat nave are options on both cars.

The parking sensors are standard on a Merc (Front and Back)

This is a company car and the prices are very similar to lease £5 between the 2.

The Merc does come with all of the interior lights under seat, lighted door handles etc, but I would prefer the hatchback for practicality!

Plus the Merc looks like an old mans car in the Elegance spec.

Of course you're correct, but most are still choosing between a high spec Superb and a low spec BMW/Merc with a similar lease price.

In my company I'm certainly the odd one out, most of my colleagues drive a BMW 320d or Audi A4 with a lowish spec.

Low spec!!! More like poverty spec.............

There is only a limited time that you get real satisfaction from gazing at the badge. The quality is not that much better than a Skoda. I tried a 3 series before I plumped for the Superb and whilst it was pretty to look at it was lacking in many areas compared with the Superb & 9 months on I have no regrets..

It was the value for money and the shear space in the Skoda that sold me. Really comparing two different cars here.C class is a fine car, I have driven quite a few as a mate works for them and regularly changes his company cars. It is quite small compared to the Superb though and like lots of people have said you are going to have to spend a lot of money on a C class to get the same spec.

That said, If money and space were not primary concerns I would consider something like a C class. As it is they are out of my budget and just too small.

Hi Iam in the same position have quotes for the following cars

Cclass estate se executive C200

BMW 3 series touring SE Bussiness edition 318

Skoda Superb estate 140 elegance

VW Passat highline plus tech blue motion 140 estate (phew)

Seat exeo st sport tech 140 estate

plus about 5 others fords vauxhall etc

and belive it or not they are all within £20 of each other on a 3 year full maintance 120000 miles

the one thing i found slightly dispurbing was that the Superb had the highest maintanance costs and the Merc was the cheapest !!

neadlest to say I'm waiting for comformation of a few bits and bobs before ordering the skoda :)
